____________________

Felix domesticus has been an integral part of my family since childhood. I recall only one cat from my childhood, a yellow short haired tabby female named Lucy. I do not recall having many cats but at least one or two at any particular time over the course of the years as I grew.

It was not until I had finally accomplished the seemingly impossible feat of buying my own house that I soon found myself with a growing family of felines, none of which I had adopted or purchased myself.

Not only did I find myself with a sizable family of cats living with me in my home but I was introduced to a black cat at my office and was soon embroiled in helping care for her and her successive litters as well! My world had definitely gone to the cats.

Overall while caring for these unusual animals has been a financial burdern the interactions that I have had with them and because of them have been both deeply rewarding and profoundly shocking. It is regrettable that I have learned just how horrid life can be for these regal animals, yet their boldness and their resolute nature provides a foundation in which they face the obstacles as only an annoyance that is either ignored or left behind as they pursue their own discovery of the world which they have inherited.

As most of the images of the cats were made before my acquisition of a digital camera I shall be adding images with relevant comment for those cats that I am able. Stay tuned!
